I was wondering how to display the number of comments above the comment list. I thought this would be shown by default, but I don't see anything!

Thanks!

Go to wordpress, appearance, Ajaxed wordpress, then select the "comments tab" at the top. The 3rd box down gives you the option of altering the text for showing/hiding comments. You can edit this text and add in a number of pre-defined variables. These are listed directly above but it goes like this:

"The following texts are for comments. You can use the tags %title, %author, %date, %count, %trackbacks, %time, and %total to show their respective data in the following textboxes."

So for example, I am using "Show Comments (%total)" and it displays as, for example:

Show Comments (2)

Does this help?

I see all that in the admin panel, but the show/hide comments isn't shown on the page.

may have to leave this to Aaron.. I have 3 modules ativated: Inline comments, inlinine comment form and inline posts. On the comments section of the dashboard, I have in order from the top down:

box 1: Inline comments enabled/disabled (set to enabled obviously)

box 2: simple comments: unchecked

box 3: Show text:  this is what I was poiinting you toward

           Hide text:

box 4: No comments text

           comments closed text

         etc etc

IF you  are saying that the show/hide comments are not appearing on your web site pages with each post - that is a different question. You need to modify your index php and add 3 extra statements. This is detailed in one of the FAQ items. (There is one post which mentions adding just one but there is another post which details the 3 required. (do_action('awp_comments_link');do_action('awp_comments');  do_action('awp_commentform'); ) Its very simple to do.

good luck

That's ok, I got it to work! I ended up putting in my single posts page.
