AWP admin problem

I am using AWP om my site and it work fine with my current settings.
But the problem is that if I try to change my settings in the admin-area and press "save" everything freezes for several minutes and I can't even reload my site( it just keeps loading). Right now I can't do anything on my site and i'm getting seriously p****d off, because it has been loading for over 20 minutes without anything happening, and I can't do anything either.
It seems to me that AWP has a issue with the database connection, or something like that, because it works fine until I press "save".
And it doesn't seem to conflict with any of my other plugins either because AWP works just fine( until I try to save my settings).
If you know of any issues or have an idea about what is causing this I would really appreciate the help.

BTW i'm using WP 2.7.1
