How do I find the loop you keep talking about?

  • Open your theme’s index.php, archive.php, page.php or single.php. (There are other possible pages)
  • The start of the WordPress loop is the line that looks like < ?php if (have_posts()) : while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?>
  • The end of the loop is the line that looks like: endwhile;
  • Almost all edits will take place between these two lines regardless of the file you are editing.
