I found the answer to my own question. It has something to do with prototype.js under "Ajax Options" in the AJAX & Effects tab. I'm not smart enough to fix it but I am smart enough to avoid it now that I know where the error is coming from =)

If you find yourself having to click the awp "read more" link twice to get it to work, switch to the jquery option instead. This allows the link to function properly.

The throbber will still work and you'll only need to click the link once to get to the full post.

Good luck!

Hi there:

I love this plugin but am having trouble with just a small part of it.

My theme is set to list excerpts of each post in a category and uses the ajaxed "read more" option that comes with this plugin. I chose a throbber and saved the config.

When I used my theme's command for a "read more" link everything worked fine. But using the ajaxed "read more" option results in people needing to click the link twice in order to reach the full post. The first time they click the link they see the throbber but do not go anywhere. The second time they click the link there's no throbber but they go straight to the post they selected.

I've tried deleting my category.php file in my theme to see if that corrected the problem but it did not.

I'd like to get this figured out if you have any insight. The site is private and can only be accessed by registered users. If you'd like to see what I'm talking about please email me for creds.

Here's my ajaxed configured (copy&paste from the plugin utility for it):
